The Downslope

Happy Friday y’all,
It feels a little funny going on about whats hot this week in the Midweek Market, considering that it’s closing so soon. A little like trying to live it up the last few days before college graduation. I guess I could say, “Make the most of your Midweek while you can!” We should have a yearbook signing party.
But Mr. Midweek is open. And there are still vegetables, meats, fruits, eggs, and goodies to order. Give no thought to the cloud of resignation that hangs above. Go out with style, which in this case would be a bag of locally grown fare.
In a more business tone, this will be our second to last Midweek. Next Friday I will open the market up for the last time, and the following Wednesday will be the last pickup day.

The Future of Midweek

Good Morning,
The Midweek Market closes this afternoon! Don’t forget to order; you just may regret it for the rest of your week. Or life.
It’s time for an update on the Midweek Market. We’ve operated it for over a year now, and for much of that year, we’ve hoped that the market would grow. While we are happy that it has provided a valuable service to a reliable handful of ya’ll, the market has no grown enough to effectively pay for itself.
However, not all is gloom and sadness. Several months ago we began offering a Monday pickup option through our Saturday Market. For those of you who can’t pickup on the weekends, this may be your ticket. As the Monday pickup is a part of Saturday’s Market, you get all the variety and choice that you may have missed on the Midweek market. Please consider it as we say goodbye to Wednesday’s market in three weeks time.

Dear Locavores,
The FRESH Local Foods Directory is hot off the press! I held the warm copies in my hands this morning and wept. They look wonderful, and they’ll prove to be a valuable resource for our community. We will have them at food club this Wednesday, you can be sure! Come by for a copy!
